What is AI-agent booking, and how close is Taiwan?

AI assistants are starting to book appointments on a patient's behalf. In the US it exists inside Gemini today; in Taiwan the agent can find you and hand the patient to your clinic's own booking page, LINE or phone.

In August 2026 Zocdoc connected its network to Google's Gemini app: a US user can ask for care in plain language, compare real-time openings and book inside the chat. Google also announced agentic booking for local services in Search, rolling out in the US. The direction is set: the assistant does the searching and, where it can, the booking.

In Taiwan the booking step stays with the clinic. A practitioner's node does not render a booking form; it links each clinic to that clinic's own booking page, official LINE account or phone. The assistant's job is to find the right doctor and hand the patient over correctly, with the right clinic and the right hours.

For that hand-off to work, the assistant needs structured facts per clinic: hours and an exit that resolves. That is the unit Quarphin publishes for every consenting doctor, and what it feeds to AI platforms once the doctor has agreed.

None of this replaces the clinic's booking system. It makes sure the patient who asked an assistant arrives at the right one.

Can a patient book me through ChatGPT today?

Not in Taiwan. Today an assistant can find you and send the patient to your clinic's booking page, LINE or phone. Real-time booking inside the chat exists in the US through partners such as Zocdoc.

Do I lose control of my calendar?

No. Your clinic keeps its booking system. Quarphin publishes hours and a link; it never holds a calendar.
